After the birth of my second child my insides hurt for weeks whenever I tried to walk quickly. I am definitely going to try a belly band this time around to try and alleviate the "being hit by a car" feeling.

I do believe that the postpartum girdle does work - there are too many wonen reporting sucess for this not to be the case. When I had my children I didn't now about them but I wish I had done.

I do not get the impression that these girdles are being marketed as a fat loss aid, but more of a way to reduce swelling and gently guide the internal organs back into place, as well as provide postural support. My profession is physical therapy and I am currently pregnant. I do plan to use one of these products after I give birth, though I am not expecting it to help lose fat, only to guide things back into their original place.

I never used them as I didn't know about them but if I was having another baby I would definitely try it. A lot of women feel that it has worked for them and lets face it what have you got to lose?

i binded my tummy after baby #2 but not with #1 and i still have a little flab. its probably the same as not binding. its just that binding just makes it go down a lot faster but i've noticed diet and excersie works best. unless you're one of those skinny people that no matter if you bind or not, have no flab after baby. and i do know a lot of those people. one of my friends binded hers for 3mos. after baby and still have the flab. it doesnt matter if you bind or not it really depends on your body and tummy. sadly, everyone is different. if you have the money go for it, if not just wait it out and diet and excersie it will do the same. =)

All I can say is that my wife used a postpartum girdle and it worked. Today, you would never guess that she was ever pregnant. She fits into all of her pre-pregnancy clothes.

Considering that you can buy a post-partum girdle for under $20, it is not a huge risk...go for it.
